Il Floridante – or the secret heroine
Cembaless
Treason, treachery and love - George Frideric Handel knew exactly which elements make for a successful opera. With the search for self-identity, the material is just as relevant today as it was back then. In an experimental concert form, Cembaless, the ensemble that lives up to its name and performs without a harpsichord, accompanies Handel's protagonists on their search for answers to fundamental life questions: Who am I, what do I want and with whom do I belong? The audience is actively involved in the course of the evening through its decisions. Using an app on their smartphones, they can vote on the questions that are raised in the course of the performance, thus influencing the storyline as it unfolds.
