Galakonzert Julia Lezhneva
Julia Lezhneva is one of the superstars of the international vocal scene, can be regularly heard on the world’s major concert and opera stages, and will now be making a guest appearance in a gala concert at the International Handel Festival in Göttingen. The FAZ raves about her “sublime cantilenas with ornamentation woven in like silver threads, springy trampoline-like staccati and evenly swinging trills” and the Süddeutsche Zeitung even views her as a “magician” who, despite all her impressive, voice box-challenging virtuosity, can “almost make her voice disappear” – as frail as it is supple, strident as it is poignant. Besides orchestral works by George Frideric Handel, played by the FestspielOrchester Göttingen under the direction of George Petrou, the soprano, born in 1989 as the daughter of two geophysicists on the Russian island of Sakhalin, will be heard with arias by Johann Adolph Hasse, Antonio Vivaldi and, of course, Handel, among others. You can look forward to an unforgettable evening!
