Lokhalle Göttingen
In September 2015, the LOKHALLE Göttingen was selected from among more than 400 participating venues as a nationwide “Location Award Winner” in the category “Historical Locations & Locations of Industrial Culture”. Following the success in the EVVC Awards as “Best Center 2009/2010” from the “Europäisches Verband der Veranstaltungscentren e. V.” and the “Best Own Event” award for “Pop Meets Classic”, this was already the third coveted award to be won by the LOKHALLE.
Located directly adjacent to Göttingen’s ICE railway station, the LOKHALLE is the central point in the Otto-Hahn-Zentrum (OHZ), which consists of a conference and congress hotel, multiplex cinema, school for lifelong learning, media centre and restaurants. As well as having excellent access to the motorway, the Lokhalle is only a few minutes’ walk from Göttingen’s pedestrian precinct. The historical industrial building dating from 1920 offers 9,400 m² for events in three halls, the individual spaces catering for a broad range of events: trade fairs, concerts, sports competitions, company presentations, conferences and congresses – the Lokhalle is multi-functional. Its variable capacity of 7,500 in standing room or 4,000 seats, at maximum, makes it equally well suited for large-scale events and for those hosted in a more exclusive format of 300 persons upwards. Everything is mobile! Stages, platforms, refreshments and exhibition stands can all be positioned flexibly, according to requirements.
