Am 23. Februar 1685 erblickt der kleine Georg in Halle (Saale) das Licht der Welt. Wie gut, dass er seiner frühkindlichen Liebe zur Musik gefolgt ist und wir heute den 340. Geburtstag einer Ausnahme-Künstlerpersönlichkeit feiern können (ginge es nach seinem Vater, wäre Händel Jurist geworden). Neben Händel selbst kommen auch der nur einen Monat jüngere Johann Sebastian Bach sowie der wenige Jahre ältere Georg Philipp Telemann zu Wort und übermitteln musikalische Geburtstagsgrüße. Das ensemble freymut interpretiert barocke Musik mit Frische und Leichtigkeit. „Freimütig“ verbinden die vier jungen Musiker:innen aus Wien instrumentale Virtuosität mit künstlerischer Neugierde; kontrapunktische Genauigkeit mit der Lust am Improvisieren. Das Geburtstagskind Händel präsentiert das Ensemble im Spiegel seiner Zeit(genossen). Ein musikalisches Freudenfest. Long may he live! On February 23, 1685, little Georg was born in Halle (Saale).
