Martin Begemann Carillon Es geht 220 Stufen dem Himmel entgegen: Hoch oben im Kirchturm von St. Jacobi wird Musik mit Höhenmetern gemacht. Der im vergangenen Jahr verstorbene langjährige „Glöckner von St. Jacobi“ Ernst Puschmann hat das dort installierte Turmglockenspiel zum konzerttauglichen Carillon mit 23 Glocken ausgebaut. Wie eine Orgel wird das Carillon mit Händen und Füßen gespielt: An einem sogenannten Stockspieltisch mit Stocktasten aus Holz und Fußpedalen werden die Glocken mithilfe eines mechanischen Systems angeschlagen. In Göttingen erklingt das anderthalb Tonnen schwere Instrument normalerweise samstagmittags. Während der Händel-Festspiele bespielt Martin Begemann das Carillon an verschiedenen Tagen auch außerhalb der Reihe. Weit über den Dächern der Göttinger Altstadt möchten wir den neuen Tag und die diesjährigen Festspiele buchstäblich einläuten. Guten Morgen, Georg!
